Dear Furry Community.... I herd u leik huskiez. =D
Besides American Eskimos, I don't think I've ever drawn a specific breed of dog. So I tried my hand at a light colored husky, and gave him some cute little wings to add to his cuddle-ability. I wish he were real, I need a happy doggy hug to banish art block! ;__;
Anyway, did this with prismacolor markers and graphite on 6" X 8" bristol. The colors I used were black, 30% cool grey, 20% cool grey, blondewood, sand, eggshell (for his fur) clay rose, salmon pink (for mouth and ears) and some true blue for his eyes.

Knowing the energy and intelligence of huskies, and looking at the eagerness on that face, I suspect this fellow would be a handful. But a delightful handful. :)

Man, yeah I love how you do fur texture. Can't believe was just markers, mine never look like that! ;D

Thank you so much! I do refine the texture and "sharpen" it with graphite. The texture might look more blurry if it were marker alone. =3

When you do the shading on these, do you usually build up the shadow with the same marker that you use for the base color and just lay it down a few times, or usually use a different marker entirely? If that question makes sense. Hehe.
Wolf Nymph
A combination of both actually. Blondewoode is responsible for most of the middle shadows, but I use darker colors for the darkest shadows. =3

I love the balance you've created here, and the fur texture is very lovely ^_^
