A little painting that has been trapped in my brain for years and years, and I finally decided to let the poor thing out. I've always been inspired by the beauty of nature, and in the fall season the trees in my neighborhood are all stunning. My favourite in the fall is the Ash tree, which looks like it's lit from within with it's leaves being yellow underneath and red/purple in the tops.
This was also an exercise in NOT blending like mad with my paint. I used thick paint and just let the brush strokes be as they were, forming shapes with the colour. It's a really different look, I like it.
This painting is TINY, about 3" X 3" on a piece of scrap mat board. And here is a detail image of Wolfy (the doggy because it looks really cool close up: http://wolfnymph.artspots.com/image/12623

Excellent work with this piece--it caught my eye immediately on the Recents. The pup adds a nice touch.
